    I use and recommend:

Directory Maximizer (online directory submission and tracking)
SubmitEaze (PC based directory submission software)
    WebCEO (for all reporting)
SEO Spyglass (the best backlink checker)

I'm using seo software such as SEO Elite to do only routine tasks like check website ranking, check back links and but most of important part are done manually.

I use SEOQuake frequently for my directory list details and I also use some SERP checker. Apart from this it's pretty much firefox and plug-ins ;)

I use the paid version of WebCEO. Also forgot Aaron Wall's great Firefox plugin at www.seobook.com.
