I recently noticed a charge on my credit card for $31.99. It was listed as "Hosting Services".. after looking around I see that in months past they've charged me $9.99 multiple times. I called the number on my CC statement, and they directed me to a toll free number (877-227-9087) however when I call, even during normal business hours, I get a recording saying they're unavailable.

After calling the numbers, the name "HostingFly" was mentioned. I know 100% for a fact I've never purchased hosting through them. I went to hostingfly.com and their logo looks almost exactly like registerfly's. I contacted a friend who also buys domains through registerfly and got him to sign on to his bank's website to check his account. Sure enough he's got 4 charges from the same "Hosting Services" group.

If you've recently (within 2 months) bought domains from registerfly, I strongly urge you to check your bank account/credit card for a charge from "Hosting Services" or HostingFly. The charges on my account were for $9.99 and $31.99 - the charges on a friend's account were $2.99 $3.18 $4.00 and $7.99.

If you've got "Hosting Services" charges or more info on this, please post here. Also, I know right after you buy domains, you have the option to purchase hosting too, I check religiously that those little boxes are NOT checked, so that's definitely not the case.

I have also noticed a $39 charge on my credit card, that I never purchased. It shows as HOSTING SERVICES GROUP. I ALWAYS check to make sure no hosting service is ticked. What's going on RegisterFly?

Also, worse than that, on Friday last (same day as the $39 charge), the SUPERINFO deal was on at RegisterFly ($0.60 per .info), so I wanted to spend $100 to get ~150 .info domains. They failed to go through and I opened a support ticket and explained the situation (also stating it was in the SUPERINFO deal). I finally got a response today..... they had registered the domains for me and the a/c report shows a charge of $456!!!!!! (~150 .infos at $2.99 each)

This is unbelievable!!! I intended to spend $100 on Friday and this has now totalled nearly $500!!

How can RegisterFly get away with this ??
    I am furious!!

Some frantic support tickets have been issued, and it seems to be getting sorted out , but wow, I didn't need this kind of hassle today. I think I'm going to remove my credit card details from RegisterFly and just add the required funds as needed.

Thanks Seiya, :) and I hope things work out for you Brizzard.

Just "Hosting Services"?... Since April I have found 3 "Hosting Services Groetel" charged to my account for approximately $10 each
(my bank converts the amount to local currency so figures vary)

I was wondering from where those charges came from, but now that you mention, they are suspiciously made on days when I renewed or purchased domains :O

In addition, I was trying to delete my credit card number from the profile (old layout) but now that option is not available :/

One day I got a similar credit card charge, but it was of the same value of some registrations, so in my case only the title was wrong. There should appear Registerfly and not Hostingfly.
Anyhow, since then I only fund my account with moneybookers.

Registerfly is known for doing stunts like this.
You are lucky if you solved that.
www.registerflies.com (not my site) is full of stories like this from brizzad.

I have problems with registerfly also and I can just say to everyone keep away of registerfly for your good.

I renewd my domain with registerfly back on May 13, 2006. I received email confirmation that my payment was received and that it would show up on my bank statement as HSG, Inc (they are all part of the same company). However, 2 charges showed up with different transaction numbers (I just noticed it last night).

Last night, registerfly expired my domain for non-payment! According to them, by "support ticket," they don't have a record of my payment. So I opened a new ticket and pasted all the information from the email receipt. I have yet to hear back from them.

So I opened another ticket pasting in the bank information showing the transaction numbers. I also renewed online (again) and found that the status "failed." That is what happened back in April and again in May!

I added the $8.99 to fund the account, received an email receipt and yet my domain is still showing as not renewed. I am at the end of my rope here as I am unemployed and rely on my email to receive interview invitations (for some reason the local colleges don't use the telephone anymore).

So what can I do to restore my domain and therefore my email? Someone, please help me!

I had the same problem one month ago. I searched for a domain name but when I saw that it was available, I didn't go through with registerfly but went with namecheap. I received my bank statement and saw that I was charged 4 times for no reason! When I checked my account history with registerfly I saw that their system tried to register that domain for me 4 times!!! but it couldn't because I had already registered with namecheap. I have issued a ticket but has anybody received his money back?
