Do you use "nofollow" on affiliate links?

    If you use affiliate text links in html format (not javascript) without a redirect, do you add the "nofollow" tag?

    I've noticed many of the affiliate program tell you to copy and paste their code exactly as it is...so do any of them have a problem if you add a nofollow?

    Usually this is not a problem, but... I would always check with your AM just to be sure.

    How about using url redirection (example tinyurl type script). Will this affect page rank? Another option is
    redirecting the links to an intermediate page that is blocked from search engines with a robots.txt file

    Please advise
