I use IE7 just to test sites.
But for a daily browsing Firefox is much more comfortable.

I get somewhat similar results... But it really depends on how tech savvy your intended traffic is. Tech savvy people tend to stay away from IE because it sucks (in my opinion and apparently in many others.)

And the reason that the responses in this thread are so anti IE is because most of the people who are webmasters/internet marketers (People who use DP) are of course at least somewhat tech savvy thus all of the anti IE responses. :)

My browser share stats indicate that of 5,000 visitor 33% use firefox, 31% use I.E 7..and lmao.. 27% are still using I.E 6

But you combined those 2 percent thats 58% for I.E
So yes I.E still is the most used browser I would guess.
But FireFox has still has did a good job of penetrating the browser market share, compared to other browsers.

im using firefox as well. a friend referred it to me and ever since i love it! but one thing.... someone above said they were plaanning to delete i.e from their computer and i was wodnering how. ive tried everything you can think of and it hasnt worked. i even tried going into the files themselves and deleting them individually, but it wouldnt let me! someone help!

the main reason i want to do this is b/c evertime i open up task manager, i always see I.E taking up like so much speed away from me, even when i dont even have it open. sometimes theirs even like 2 or three programs open in taskmanager, when i dont have a single one open. I HATE INTERNET EXPLOERER!!!!!

I used to use IE7, but then I tried out Firefox and just found how much easier and better it was than IE7!

I like the way you can get any lost pages on Firefox, back when you start it up again, its something that IE7, really needs :p!

Yeah. I use it at work as that is what our 25,000+ users use and I have to support them. Our Intranet Portal is designed for IE so it often requires us to use IE for certain functions to work.

As for personal use, or for browsing sites outside of our Intranet at work, I prefer and always use Firefox. It is much more secure and that is pretty much the bottom line. I only use IE outside of work when needing to test a site for compatibility.......

I always use Firefox, it's a lot more stable than IE (no matter what version). Also Firefox has a better support for CSS and XML, so the choice is pretty obvious.

The only reason why i still use IE is because too many people use it, and i need to make my sites compatible.

Opera is great as well. Brilliant support for (X)HTML validation. Just love it
