Finally, we agree on something ! On iTunes: No, people wouldn't. They will go with the crowd; everyone else has their "cool" ipods, so they must be the best, mustn't they? That's the way thing, unfortunately, tend to work.
Totally agree. I think we agree on almost all the other aspects except about IE7 and Vista. But yeah popularity and the media are powerful when marketing. If it were not for the media iPod would not be where it is today.
Yup, so it's seems. Pity that's what the majority of things here seem to discuss. You're right in that it's apple ridiculously efficient PR machine which seems to make them so successful. Everything they do is hyped up so much that people actually order non-working products from overseas just because they're "cool".
Nice wallpaper I found http://developer.mozilla.org/wiki-images/en/d/d8/Moz_ffx_openStandards_1280x1024.jpg All sizes here http://riyaz.wordpress.com/2007/03/28/dont-hurt-the-web/
I use FireFox most of the time, occasionally Opera, and IE only when I need to test something cross browser.
So true. I remember when I first heard about the iPhone. Of course I was skeptical because until that time most phone, mp3 combinations had not done real well. But when I watched the key note I was blown away by the device and I promised myself to get one no matter the cost. But then when I found out no third party apps, locked to one network for the next 3 years, and not to mention not a single productivity program I began to wonder how they could claim this phone is better then a BlackBerry, Palm or Pocket PC when it did not carry a single feature to compete with it and only a glossy interface. Don't get me wrong I think the iPhone is cool....only as an entertainment phone.
firefox is much more better in my idea because hackers always target the most popular systems and softwares so you will be much more secure using the less used softwares.
Yeah, same here actually. I was enthralled with the iphone for the total of about an hour until I suddenly realised something: It was just a very expensive downgrade from my Palm TX which I bought a year ago.
I do use IE 7. It works faster with huge amounts of graphics. But Firefox and Opera rule!!!! I use them basically.
And not to mention the fact that the plans start at 60 dollars plus and the phone does not even support a 3g network. Still stuck in EDGE.
please feel free to disagree with me, but i prefer IE compared to any other browser, and i have used firefox, safari etc. (although safari looks quite neat, but is really slow)
I have heard that Safari is not as fast as some claim it to be. I have used it on Windows for a short time to test it out and it was not the exceptional piece of software many have made it out to be.
That's another point. My, now, year Nokia 6280 has 3g, so why can apple not support it with their "revolutionary" new iphone? It is, it is lightening fast but not nearly up to standard on everything else. It still feels like a quick hashed together port of an OSX program, rather than one designed for windows.
Exactly. Even my free cell phone that I got as a promotion from Sprint (upgrading shortly to a smart phone) is faster on the net than the iPhone. And I still don't get why they stuck it with only 8 GB of memory...
I agree with the above statement. Many of my site visitors use IE7 so IE7 just can't be ignored when one is designing/improving a site. My uncle is used to using IE7 because that browser came with his computer. The only problem with Firefox is that in spite of its supposed safety, I downloaded a Trojan virus that was quarantined immediately by Zone Alarm. At that point I complicated matters by downloading every Anti-Spyware/Virus program I could from CNET. There were terrible complications The main problem was with my "Hosts file" and I have returned to normal. Someone suggested I should use Safari for Windows. I try to use Safari for Windows for "MySpace related sites" or "suspect sites" (which raises the question: how does one know one will be viewing a "suspect site?") but I am most comfortable with Firefox.
