Most bloggers say that you should only have 1 H1 tag for your blog - which would be your blog title, but then I saw another blog post saying that you should also make you individual blog post titles to H1 instead of H2. So, what's the better thing to do to rank well in search engines?
I use H2 tags for my blog post titles. As you said, H1 only for the blog title itself. I think google frowns upon loading your blog with H1 tags.
H tag are used to structure content, h1 is usually for page title, while h2, h3 etc... would be for sub titles. I do use them.
h1, h2... h6 are headline tags you can use h1 for page title, but if there is a list of articles or article with different paragraphs, you need to use h2, h3 .. h6 tags for every headline. remember: there are only 6 types of headlines - <h7>, <h8> etc tags are invalid. As for SEO, h1-tags do matter only with correct and relevant keywords and phrases, otherwise you will not have any results.
well try to use different heading tags for both the cases......when you would be using differnt for titile of blog n title of blog psot then it would lead to some bettter results....
So if we talk about Wordpress or blogspot post.. the post title is basically a H1 title and below whatever we write we should use h2 and h3,h4 and so on..Correct me if I'm sounding wrong.
Not H1 unless its the page header, use sub headings such as h2, h3, h4 etc. There should normally be only 1 H1 per page.
would you know if there's a difference (in terms of SE ranking) between "<h1>" and "<h1 class='title'>"?
most people use h1 for the blog title only, and h2 for the post title. i think i'm going to stay with that too.
