Do you use common misspellings in your WP tags?

What are your thoughts on this? Given the average Google user is er... how shall we say?... "creative" when it comes to spleling. Do you or should you try to cater to common misspellings in WP tags? Do you think Google normalises results for common spelling variants?

I have experimented a little with this and do see some increase in certain areas.

    :p

I always spell my tags correctly. Besides, Google will probably fix your mistake after you see the "Did you mean..." thing.

Google will attempt to fix the mistake. BUT, it simply offers an alternative spelling. Furthermore, it returns a different record set for that alternative spelling. So, you are to hedge your bets on whether most people know how to spell. For common phrases it is a safe bet, however if you are competing in the medical arena, or an arena where people's names are commonly used in search terms then you could be waving sweet adieu to a lot of traffic by not considering misspellings. On one blog I have, more than 30% of my SE traffic derives from incorrectly spelled search terms ;)

Well there you go, I guess it just depends on the type of blog you have. But if misspellings are working for you, just keep on at it. I might have to look more into this and see if I can get any extra traffic from misspellings as well.
