Do you use Alexa ToolBar

I hate alexa. In my opinion its just useless. I never use it.

 

I also never use alexa toolbar for search - just for the site's stats and hence i have it switched on without using it to contribute to the accumulation of more date to make the overall numbers from alexa more accurate.

to add to the alexa statistics there is NO need to use the alexa search - just have the alexa toobar installed - even without siging in - to support alexa's work in collecting site-visitors numbers.

as aölexa publishes on its own pages the data aigher than rank 100'000 are inaccurate
the better you rank the better the accuracy
the alexa ranking still is a major key even among the worlds top sites such as G, Y, MSN to figure out who is Nr 1

alexa toolbar on my laptop also helps me to instantly figure out which minor SE or directory has any real traffic and hence a potential value to be listed in addition to the G PR that says at least something about the popularity of a site to be combined with the traffic rank from alexa

 

No way does G Y or MSN rely on alexa to determine who is # 1 lol.....where did you come up with that ?????

You may want to look up companies like hitwise and others that use true IP data to determine traffic...

I am using only the G toolbar.

 

I also use the FF extension. We all know it's inaccurate & can be faked but it gives us some vague general indication to the sites traffic.

I do not use it. The more programs you have in the background the slower it is to browse the webpages. I do use the Google toolbar to see pageranks.

I like the way Alexa has his site info etc.. age of domain etc... but don't trust the alexarank.

Alexa rank may be crap, but some still use it to place value on a site. Everyone's favorite, TextLinkAds, uses Alexa rank combined with Google PR to price your links.

I have heard Alexa Toolbar is a spyware, although obviously they (Alexa) deny it....

Anyhow I wouldnt think of installing Alexa toolbar. For me Google PR is more accurate, even its not perfect too.

 

I was considering to install alexa toolbar myself, but after reading so many negative responses, I changed my mind thank you.

 

Is it available for firefox? if so i'd use it again.
