I got $0.08 for a click once, I was livid. The highest I've found was $2.00. I dont think YPN has enough advertisers yet, so "Smart Pricing" occurs when you arent converting enough clicks to sales. This explains why financial websites might end up having ads for a Used Cars co on the other side of the country.
Smart Pricing and YPN... Oxymoron? No I don't believe they have that in place, although they are probably working on it. Why not copy Google? It works! What they have been doing is playing around with ad quality (if you can believe that). In the past they have often just shown the higest paying ads - which makes sense on some level. They are now trying to figure out which ads will get the most clicks based on a number of factors not just the highest bid. How can they implement a smart pricing clone when they can't even get the right "mix" of ads to display. They have to address and fix one problem at a time. I suspect YPN will be in "beta" for a while to come.
I don't think they have smart pricing in place, however I wouldn't rule out the idea of it being tested in the beta program. I have, recently, been experiencing lower than average clicks which return to normal the following day or so... could this be attributed to some type of smart pricing? Or simply normal occurances in YPN? I suppose we'll never know
i average anywhere from 50 cents to $1 per click on our article directory - on the recipe directory however - the averages are closer to 10 cents per click.
For almost a year, I was getting good earnings from YPN. Then, one day, everything went to crap. Now, without changing the ads, earnings are going back up. It may not be smart pricing, but it certainly seems like Yahoo! is playing with something.
If they had the same type of smart pricing that Google has, they would probably no kick out as many publishers due to the fact they can smart price them. Instead, they seem to be giving publishers the adsense termination treatment. I am sure this is going to help them when (if) they ever come out of beta. I thought I read somewhere they tell you and give you a repreave in terms of alerts or something. Is this not true anymore?
on the very first day, i statrted wid adsense i got 3.68$ for 25 clicks and 11 impressions... is it gud? thnx
