I am thinking about turning this into a book. Do you think it would sell? Maybe even a movie? Takeover! Chapter 1 The year is 2013 and the United states has welcomed in a new president. The world has survived 2012 but the Aztecs have not. I guess they were a little late in the prediction of when their world would end. Chaos still rules a lot of the land. Wars and rumors of more wars. The United States has troops stationed all over the world trying to keep the peace. Over 3 million troops are stationed in other nations. The naval fleets are all out protecting the 7 seas. There is still no draft. There are very few interested in joining on their own. And then the unthinkable happens. For as long as anyone can remember there have been illegal aliens filtering into the United States. No president has really been doing anything to deter them from crossing the borders other than the regular safeguards that have always been used and seldom modified. Due to the failing of other nations economies the numbers have increased explosively. Now, there are over 30 million people that the government has no record of. And now, they are organized for the takeover. Working for years in secret, the other cash strapped nations have been building an underground force. Now the leaders are ready to give the order that America must die! Phase 1. The order is given. The first act is the mobilization of the citizens to rise up against the government in protests. This happens in all the major cities. 30 million people all rising up at once. The police are the first line of defence. In the first few days they are overwhelmed. The cities are on fire and crashing down. Traffic is at a standstill. The financial sector is in ruins. Communications are totally interrupted. The water systems are shut down, power grids have crashed all over the nation. Day 4. The national guard is called in. Right now the government does not realize this is a real threat. The national guard is stopped in their tracks. All of their resources are completely tied up. Phase 2 The borders to the south are now unprotected. Little did the nation know that troops have been massing there in small groups spread across the border and are now mobilizing into one unit as they march across the border. Texas falls with no fight. Now the other states are vulnerable. The march towards California begins. The sea ports are taken. Other vessels that have been slowly coming up the Mexican coast land and drop more troops. The military bases have been captured by the advancing forces. Now they also have their air force in the air and air bases to use. All of this in the space of one day. The United States military in the West has been routed. Phase 3 While this battle was going on forces have also landed in sunny Florida. Luxury liners that were captured while in port were used to transport troops the short distance needed to secure a beachhead. The coast is caught by surprise. Military craft are close behind with vehicles for beach landings. The march across the south has begun. The military link between east and west will be completed in a few days with more troops from the Mexican border moving towars the east. The United States is helpless. They cannot use nuclear weapons on their own soil. The military is greatly outnumbered. Our troops in other countries cannot return for weeks.
I think it would make an exceptional book. I love a good "Foreshadowing war" story. If you do make it a book, I may be the first to buy it! :]
