Recently i have received an email from my friend about PPC advertising. I thought of, it might be useful to the forum members. If you have any new idea/feedback, please post it here. Here it is: *************Email -- start*********************** I very rarely direct link to a merchant. Send the traffic straight to a merchant because it requires too much maintenance when any competition comes in and outbids me. but, you know...it is a real pain to set up a website or blog before you know if this product will be profitable... (used to be before the google slap you could use one domain for everything, now you have to build a relevant mini site) So here's what I do and it works GREAT. GHETTO LANDING PAGE This is very simply a web 2.0 or other page that you don't own. I use UsFreeAds, blogger and wordpress.com. You can probably use others...but you want to try and make sure that there aren't too many distractions on the page. For example squidoo has so many distractions I prefer NOT to use them for my PPC Ghetto Landing Page. They all get a good quality score if you make sure the title matches the keywords you are bidding on and make the rest of the page relevant. Now...you use the Ghetto Landing Page until you determine if that campaign will be profitable. Then...you can put up your own website or blog...you can even expand on the info and work on increasing your conversions. Does this sound difficult? It's not...let's use an example and see if it helps: Okay...I know a fella named Amir who's got a fantastic product called xtreme conversions-a great tracking software... It is fairly popular...and he gets mention a lot...which means people probably go and search xtreme conversions extreme conversions extreme conversion software and many other derivatives...follow? So first thing we need is a page to drive visitors... And this is the testing stage... So I would go to UsFreeAds and start on a new ad... The title would be "Extreme Conversions Software" nothing fancy... Then the very first line I would mention Extreme Conversions And I would probably just borrow the headline that Amir uses on his page... HEADLINE Then I would add in some cool bullets (maybe borrowing from Amir again. Then I would add in some "cool factor" or "curiosity factor" (if the merchant gives away a video or course this is where I mention it) and put in my affiliate link. So you have: **HEADLINE** **BULLET **BULLET **BULLET **BULLET **COOL FACTOR** **AFFILIATE LINK** Not fancy...you don't want it to be. You want to see if it converts without a ton of high powered copywriting. I also like to borrow from the merchant site...because it makes for a CONSISTENT EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR VISITOR... Not to mention that someone typing in a product name is TWO INCHES away from buying the product. He is in what is called the "late buying cycle". So our example may look like this (just off thetop of my head) *********** EXAMPLE *********** Starting with Amir's headline: Xtreme conversions... "Enter Any Niche You Please, And In Just A Few Days, Effortlessly Uncover All Of Its Profitable Keywords...Then Slink Away To Your Good Fortune While Your Competition Fights A Losing Battle With Keywords That Suck..." Can it really be that easy? It can be! Imagine KNOWING... *Which keywords a buyer types in when they're ready to buy. *Which keywords convert to a sale? *Which keywords make you money and which burn holes in your pocket? (Coolness/curiosity factor) Some keywords return $3 for every $1 invested. I have keywords in my account that have earned me 6 FIGURES. And look what we did... We pre-sold the visitor...we make him curious about the price...we p-r-e s-e-l-l the price even...he can even get a cool free report if he just clicks our affiliate link. The PS...is like a damaging admission...it gives us more credibility and in this case is kind of like the "car wreck" we just have to see. If someone is interested in xtreme conversions he will more than likely click on our affiliate link... I get clickthrus as high as 80% using this simple Ghetto Landing Page technique. I usually get at least 50%. (you will too) So next step is to go to your adwords account and start up an ad. Here's the deal...don't make it fancy! You want a targetted serious visitor. MORE CLICKS doesn't mean better clicks. So let's keep it simple: Want Xtreme Conversions? Know what keywords turn into sales! Software. Tiny Fee. xtremeconversions.blogger.com So what keywords do you bid on? ONLY KEYWORDS THAT HAVE YOUR PRODUCT NAME IN THE ROOT. for example xtreme conversions xtreme conversions review COMMON MISTAKES (don't go crazy before you have a winner) extreme conversions extreme conversions AND ONE OTHER HOT...HOT...HOT...TIP And I don't know why this works...but it does. if your product name has two words... reverse them... They are very low traffic...but very high converting. Maybe dislexic people are better buyers? Hee...hee... so we would do... conversions xtreme got it? ********* Bidding ********* I have discovered that people in general are in one of these two categories... they feel that... 1. they have more time than money or 2. they have more money than time If you are in group 1...initially just bid enough to get on the first page. (you will be shocked many times how little competition there is for these lucrative keywords) If you are in group 2...bid to get top 3 if there is not "stupid" money bidding. Get your results fast. (stupid money is typically newbies that are promoting a product that someone tells them to. Affiliate Project X comes to mind as an example. When it came out the product owner got his affiliates good and juiced and had them bidding prices that could NEVER be profitable...except for him of course.) So... Now your ad and ghetto landing page is live. What we are looking for now is... DO WE MAKE CONSISTENT SALES? Even if they are not profitable or break even at this point...we just want CONSISTENT. We can make money if we get consistency! On product keywords we should get AT LEAST 2 or 3 conversions every 100 clicks or so. But even if we get 1 conversion out of 100 if it is consistent...we stand a good chance. If you get NO consistency or consistently NO SALES...KILL IT!! Go on to greener pastures. Don't tweak it. Don't wring your hands. Just KILL II at this point. Now, if you are consistently profitable...you can just leave up your Ghetto Landing Page if you want. You are probably leaving money on the table. But, I have ghetto landing pages up right now that have been up for over a year. Probably not smart of me, but they are profitable and I just don't want to mess with them. If you are break even...or unprofitable. You need to put up your own site or blog...which usually will increase conversions right off since you don't have "other distractions". Using our xtreme conversions example...we could even put videos on our site. YOU DON'T necessarily have to do your own. I know for a fact Amir has some he would probably be glad to let you use. There are probably videos on YOUTUBE you can use. The IMPORTANT THING IS...you know you have a niche and product that buys. You just have to work the numbers. Once you got it profitable on Google...test it on Yahoo and MSN. (that could be a seperate project) Once you have a winner milk it baby! And there is an ocean of milk out there. Seriously. Now this project seems long. But, you can put one of these together in a few hours. And sometimes these turn into $200 a day projects. Sometimes...they turn into nice consistent $200 a month projects. I also want you to think about this for a smidge. There are NEW PRODUCTS coming out EVERYDAY! People are making nice livings...just using variations of this project. And it is not going to stop. *************Email -- end*********************** So what do you think about the method above?
