Do you think the Republicans chose the right candidates?

Even though the Republicans claim that John McCain is the only Republican who could beat the Democrats, I think they made the wrong choice. He's already proven himself to be a kind but "confused old man" that's too old to be our next president. Sarah Palin is also confused as well and is definitely lacking the intelligence or learning abilities it would take to be our next V.P. or President. Do you feel there was a better candidate that should've been chosen? I though Rudy Giuliani and Mike Huckabee were better choices. Much more intelligent than McCain is at his age.

Huckabee is not middle enough to garner the support it would take to overcome the Neo-cons bad image. Rudy would not have survived the campaign due to all the smearing that would have taken place over his mishandled cleanup after 9/11. Pretty sure all his other corruption would probably have been the nail in the coffin anyway.
McCain is right up the middle in a lot of ways, and even in his most "right" policies such as pro-life he waters it with a "states rights" chaser. Palin on the other hand wreaks of a knee jerk reaction to the democrats running a woman who had a lot of support and a bi racial man much younger than McCain. It feels as if they scanned the floor for a female republican they thought would make for a good PR show and I think he is probably pulling out his few remaining hairs regretting what was probably some one else's choice anyway.
