The news of the moment is it has lost the lead which it gained initially. People are already getting off from it. Being a Google Brand, it gained lot of attention and mentioned all over the web world but now the users are finding nothing incredible about it. It was thrown as a challenge to Facebook but in comparison it has nothing to produce as of now part from video chat.

I'm not sure Google+ will beat Facebook. The recent results shows that user engagement in Google+ is too worse though there are millions of Google+ users. An average Facebook user spends about 7 minutes on the site but on an average people are spending less time on Google+.

I'm seeing a very few people are sharing links through G+. So it wont succeed until unless Google implements some rare features that Facebook and other social networking sites doesn't have.

I know that I would use Google+ more and probably stop using FB if more of my friends on FB joined G+. I think that it's too early to judge Google+ before more people create their profiles.

No i don't think G+ will beat facebook. Each and every parts of the world people talks about only Facebook. In order to beat facebook G+ was born. Still no results in beating facebook. Now Facebook is becoming another big search engine. I think instead of G+ it should have been "GFace".

If you are talking about the +1 button which has a similar function like that of a Facebook like, i think it won't beat Facebook like because when you click the +1 button you need to sign in to your google account if you do not have one you have to create a Google account which will be applicable to a myriad of google services, unlike for a Facebook like where you only join Facebook per se and not other services, not all people like to join different services. Furthermore, Facebook already have around 700 million members so pretty much those who click on a facebook like would already have an account unlike for Google +1.

Big Flop. It seems kind of pointless.

I'm not very keen on this latest idea from Google, but I've implemented the code to a couple of my websites and see how things go.

google is trying hard for its success. the fact that its integrating it in search results algorithm makes it obligatory for webmasters to use it. hence it may succeed in terms of the installation on websites.

+1 button shall still take some amount of time to gain the popularity enjoyed by "Like" and "Tweet". Until then we can only speculate. But very soon, +1 button shall have significant impact on the organic SERPs, as indicated by Google.

Yes even i read this, that your SERPS will improve if there is a lot of activity with +1 button for your site.

Well G+ is just a noob and let it to be settled on. G+ is totally focused on only the webmasters but facebook is for the general people. Millions of visitors gather in FB to share their daily updates and it would be tough and challenging for G+ to drive those users towards their site. So wait and watch for the next result.
