If it's a company selling golf product owning .net only, do you think he will buy the .com version? And how to set the price to sell them the domain. Thanks.
I got a list of .com version domain, just dont know how to benefit from it, any people have such kind of experience? Maybe you can contact me, I can give you something like 20% share if the domains were sold succeessfully.
It depends on whether the company is making money, if not will never buy from you, but if the company is making say million dollar sales per month, then you can approach them and ask a high price for the .com domain.
If the company is international company and earn profit like dell.com, google.com, hp.com. i think they will buy from u
How much more wrong could you get? If he owns Google.com (lol) and Google.net is the main one, expect a UDRP or whatever they're called where the repo man takes the name. HP could get away with being just a short name but there could be a court fight and you can't actually present to sell it to them really or else you might get stuck in court. Dell, you know what...you just used really terrible examples because they are based off the .com not .net
if it was really a international and big company, they would already have the .com , which means they are not interested in .com
The only way to find out is to do a little research on the company - you can try to run the domain name through quantcast.com if it's a big enough site. There are many other ways to try to guage how much business they doing online. Then you'll need to find the best person in the organisation to contact and send them a postal letter or email explaining that you hold the .com name and would be willing to sell it for $xxx If they are not interested and their site gets a reasonable amount of traffic you could always develop the domain yourself and you may be able to leach some traffic from them. If you've already offered to sell them the name for a reasonable price I don't think this would be too out of order. Hope this helps, Rob
