^ I hope so, too, Emie. Things are a bit unpredictable in Beijing or in China as a whole right now :(

Rigging isn't an easy thing in Olympics where all eyes are on the judges and players. I don't think it would be fair to say that. The Chinese being a race who valued face value above everything will not resort to such under handed methods.

Rigging the Olympics has been done before, its not something that is unheard of, Im not sure but I think France and Russia had done it before in figure skating.

All I was trying to say in my last post is that it would not shock me if I heard in the news that China rigged the Olympics.

I would say that all countries have the same possiblities of doing that, not just limited to China.

I would say that they will just air footages of them winning and ignore those they are losing, typical for everyone :)

I would expect so, the Chinese is extremely preoccupied with the concept of "face"

I think the argument that participating in the olympics in countries like china will help make them more open is a croc. Boycot and not buying their products would go much further. Check out where the leaders live. They have oppulant palaces while their people starve.

If you think there is a true communist you are fooling yourself. They are all about the money just like the west. Only difference is their people suffer.

I think that they should be boycotted. Have you seen the pollution level there. I feel so sorry for all the runners who have to try and race and breathe while competing. Very sad that we validate govt. like china by participating in anything they do.

That was a tragic act by Deng Xiao Ping, a stain on his otherwise brilliant career, hopefully with the Chinese getting richer and more democratic, no more Tiananmen.
