I am sure they are doing their best job to make everyone safe and secure.

Why do you people always think China is like a place where people are tortured? It's not.

It is not really a free society, I do believe that people are tortured there, but with even USA doing water boarding. I guess it is the same all round the world.

Beijing being one of the most polluted places of the planet some athletes withdraw from the competition already. I hope the Tibetan people will be able to make as much problem for China as they possibly can, thus resulting in to getting their freedom.

I definitely hope that everything will be peaceful and that there will be no violent incidents. Can you name some of the athletes that have withdrawn?

Well, I think there will be people protesting against it and probably trying to wreck it but they'll have super tight security so I doubt anything will go wrong ;)

Do you guys think that the withdrawal of Steven Spielberg as the Beijing Olympics' Creative Consultant had any effect on the preparations?

I really dont know if it will go safely or not, I believe it was the last summer olympics in which a guy went out and jumped on the leading runner and the runner ended up getting third. There is always the competition in the sports world but now with it in the political world it will be a hard one to judge on how safe its gonna be!

I predict China will be at its best this Olympics, they have been showing themselves as an emerging super power in the World of Sports. With home ground advantages, they should be really a contender for the top country in terms of medals.

Any particular reasons as to why not? From what I see, massive preparations had been done and a great deal of money invested in infrastructure and security as well as promotions.

That would be quite tough as the majority of Chinese are Buddhists or Taoists. Though there are minority races in China that are Muslims.

    Probably not.

But Steven Spielberg did the right thing by supporting the Tibetans and people of Darfur who are at the receiving end of Chinese policies. He did it for humanity.
