My ipb forum is 2 months old and i found ipb seo is not good as mybb seo. Does others also think so?

Google always visits the index page but crawled only few threads yet. what should i do so that google will crawl my threads quickly as in wp..

It's okay. I had really good results in MyBB's SEO (Google SEO + Template edits). I also have Dan's sitemap generator and that has been modest enough.

I still do directory submissions, though, and that has been good enough. But MyBB's SEO is really underrated nonetheless.

Well, it's better than vBulletin, that's for sure. We don't have to deal with bullshit from the ownership.

I mean, honestly, if I had to run a forum again (I think the one now will be my last), I'd likely use MyBB, even over IPB. I mean, what can IPB/vBulletin do that MyBB can't? Not only that, MyBB uses a whole lot less server resources than IPB does (which in turn uses less than vBulletin).

    - Superior core
    - Status updates
    - Facebook/Twitter/OpenID/WinLive Connect
    - Topic Preview (hover over a topic name to see the content)
    - Lightbox for attached images
    - Template conditionals
    - Profile Customisation
    - Ticket support, free upgrades by IPS staff
    - Sphinx search support
    - Keyword-rich URLs
    - Threaded PMs
    - IPS Spam Monitoring Service
    - Addons like IPContent and IPNexus

    I could go on.

Probably because it lacks what's shown above.

I'm not out to bash MyBB. For a free solution, it's actually really amazing, if not the best free forum software there is. I just like IPB more for it's social network-y features. Most forum members will say the same thing.

On topic, I'm going to be the contrarian and say I've had better luck SEO-wise with my IPB boards than my MyBB boards, but to be fair, I haven't used the Google SEO plugin. Does it make that much a difference?

I wasn't overly impressed with it, I ran it for 6 months and went back to the best option IMHO, vBulletin + vBSEO.

It does FURL (customizable as well), Sitemap, Dynamic Metas, Custom 404s and 301-redirects. I then did template edits to add h1, h2, p tags, and changed up the title tags. After a few directory submissions, I was easily able to contend (and outrank) a few phpBB forums and one vBulletin forum.

By the way, Lennart made Facebook Connect for MyBB possible (and there's a pretty buggy Twitter Connect and Windows Live Login), and MyBB has Sphinx Support, Customization, and Lightbox, though I would like the Spam Service (not like vBulletin has it, but XenForo has something nice as well for anti-spam), and I've always had good support from IPB. When I had a vBulletin, it was before they screwed their own business over, but most of the time, they didn't really help me for support.
