Having had some input into design and layout in the past we thought this an ideal forum to ask if there should be anything that needs changing on this site? The site is HTML based and has WHMCS integrated into it. We are happy with the overall impression of the site but do you think you could suggest any addition or changes to help us decide if we have a good base to modify or if we should go for a completly new web 2.0 design. I don't think there is a need for Web2.0 design for a Hosting company. Upper menu looks great. Logo is good. Effects on other elements are good. Pages are pretty explanatory. You may consider checking all the boxes for other extensions as default at domain checker. When I searched for a keyword it showed me that it is taken and under the "More Choices" title there weren't any alternatives. If you check them by default, users can see if other extensions are available or not and this may help on your sales. Good luck.
I personally dislike Flash as a website/header method but that's just me I suppose. Flash definitely has its usefulness, however I don't personally believe websites should be built around it. Also the fact that it loads the intro every time you click a link in the header can look unprofessional. Other than that though the design looks good and should catch some attention
How are you getting customers to know you - offer something for free to get them to trust you and eventually become a customer
This has nothing to do with what the TS was asking. TS was wondering about the design of the site, not marketing
Oh I beg your pardon Fierceservers! The poster asked "if there should be anything that needs changing on this site?" and is in the category website reviews. Where does it say 'no marketing advice required'. My opinion is just that - I always look for a genuine free offer or newsletter before I buy from a site to get to know what the company is like in general, and whether I can trust them. Yes the site looks fantastic, and as you said 'should catch some attention', (I dont recall the poster asking that either) but I, and most people would take more persuading to purchase - just imho! I hope the poster is not as offended by my comments as you are. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and responses like yours put people off from posting in these forums! I am just trying to help like everyone else!
It doesn't say this, but the thread would most likely have been started in the Marketing forum here on DP, or requesting marketing/sales advice, if this is what he was looking for. And by the way, I'm not offended at all actually, my post wasn't meant to be an offensive remark and I apologize if you took it that way
Logo is good enough, main menu works great (love the animation), like the color combination of current theme, but... Do everyone a favor and consider removing the music that starts playing everytime someone loads the page. It is bit scary and caused me to jump on my seat, seriously
