Do you think submit to directory is effect?

Now i have submit my site to lots directories, and i have a question,is it effect?You know some of them need you add his link in your site,and some of them need money, if i add it free,maybe i need wait for a long time and at last it could not add mine.
And i 'm puzzled whether there have people log in the directory site to see it?
So i think maybe it just wast time. Right?

 

IMO submitting to bunch of free (and specially new) directories has lost almost if not all of its value.

Submitting to few quality directories a month is definitely still a great way to help search engines find you and better understand your website

 

I agree. In fact, directories are losing their significance online, except for the major big players.

 

To my experience, submitting to directories got me 2 benefits:
1- Allowed me to get speedy index in google exactly after 3 days from submission and on.
2-It got me over 20 backlinks.

But on the other hand, i haven't got any traffic from these directory.

Not all of them take much time, i got all my submissions approved within 10 days, and other still on pending status taking weeks or months to be submitted.

 

From what i have tried, submitting to directories , at least on my website did not help with traffic what so ever. I think that directory submissions are good for page rank.

 

I just get 16 backlinks from directory and have not get any traffic too like username said above.

 

16 backlinks may not be enough... I think I have more than 1000 on some websites.

 

Most directories will have a latest links page. If you see the page being updated regularly, you can be sure that they are not abandoned.

I agree that directories are good for pagerank, otherwise they're useless.
Just think for yourself, when you visit a directory (just like any one of us) do you visit any websites there (maybe one in a blue moon), so why do you think somebody else will visit your site from there if they visit directories just to submit their own websites?

They have different theories all of them.

Why would i answer someone if i am not sure what i am saying.
But only to increase there posts so they can post in BST.

 

Directories alone wont help rankings - you need a varied profile of links. also, one way links are much better than reciprical

 

Submitting to niche directories with great unique content is very effective, as long as it's not one of those directories that's not updated regularly. The content on the directory that you are submitting to should be related to your specific site. In such a case, you will receive web traffic.

I agree with you. Niche web directories - can be very useful.
The same I can tell about popular general directories with high PR.

 

I think directories have lost most of their pull unless it is a large high pr niche directory.

 

In general, submitting to web directories will help your site gain more back links and get more visible by search engines, better ranking and traffic.

The quality of the back links you gain depends on the quality of the directories you submit to.

Some directories does send traffic and good targeted traffic but most of them if not all are paid.

 

Submiting to directoryes is a good job. It increase your traffic and PageRank.

 

well, it is good, if they are do-follow directory, it will surely increase page rank and traffic...
