Since Google has recently increased the impact of social signals (like from Facebook) on search results, do you think more people will have a better reason to spam on facebook, and create fake accounts for web marketing or will things mostly stay the same?
The verification of social media accounts is getting more difficult, so unless you have access to dozens of servers in multiple locations, spamming on social networks isn't going to work much longer. Also, the thing about social media is that it is self-correcting and essentially the users are the algorithm on what stays and is accepted as good material and what gets destroyed as spam. This is one of the reasons people don't allow to dislike on facebook: it's not social media, it's an advertising market platform. The crap you can pull on twitter and facebook will not fly on reddit or digg or stumble
Even before what google implimented facebook has been a big spammers paradise. With all the fake pages, fake friends etc, but I could deffinitly see tha increasing.
Facebook will be a good place for spammers. As if I am not mistaken they already started spamming several accounts with malicious posts. Specially when Timeline was introduced. As it's a better way to market any product because of the improved interface.
