Im doing some research before i start a hosting company.

    Would you pay 0.49cents/month for 2.5GB bandwidth & 240mb space? (99.999% up-time guarantee)

    with...

    cpanel
    unlimted subdomains
    unilmited databases
    unlimted emails
    CGI
    PHP 5 with Zend Optimizer
    MySQL 4+
    Perl
    Ruby On Rails
    Python
    SSH
    SSI
    Cron
    FrontPage
    Curl
    GD
    Image Magick
    Streaming Audio/Video
    Free PHP/Perl Module Installation

+ dedicated ip for an extra one time fee off $2.99

My main market would be on here so thats why im asking.
    cheers!

You would be better of offering more bandwidth and space at a cheaper cost to everyone else.

When you sell hosting you either sell it to the newbies or to the pros, for newbies .99 price doesnt make sense as they don't know much about what they need and would be willing to pay more, for pros 2.5 gb bw makes no sense considering the alternatives, so in terms of marketing you should be very careful picking your target customers, your plan covers neither.

You could increase the bandwith a little more. But aside from that your package looks great.

Nope I wouldn't. To litle bandwith and the price sounds untrustworthy to me. (that doesn't mean I say u cannot be trusted) It just often happens that people who provide that kinda hosting often won't life long (their buisness I mean then)

Whats important is the CPU. Dreamhost also gives you lots of bandwith but you cant use it all

You would increase bandwith to 10GB or something.
I think most beginners would buy it.

If you had over 10GB or more that would be good for bandwidth, also you can oversell (a bit)!

Now tell me how you would make a profit and pay the server bill, after paypal fees...

paypal takes out .25 cents plus 5% of every transaction so you are looking at making .20 from your 0.49cents/month sale.. how you you in turn have money for the server bill, your support time, your techs,,

But no i would not pay that as even free hosting gives you more then that for bw ..

    Good luck

Not for me. I still prefer to host my site on high reputation company although I have to pay more.

Do a comparison with what HostMonster.com has to offer and that would be your answer.

HostMonster was voted tops over HostGator.com. in a survey conducted by Dr. Andy.

I use both and prefer HostMonster.

No, I would not switch from HostMonster to what you are offering at this time.
