I see forums like DP and I wonder if the webmasters do a lot of advertising behind the scenes to keep people coming back, or perhaps it is more that this site is more of a "question and answer" type forum that keeps people coming back for many years. Also with the return of visitors comes Google's help in always displaying this forum on the top of the list. I worked hard many years ago to make a RPG Final Fantasy forum successful, but for some reason it has died off. You can view it here: http://www.funender.com/finalfantasy/forums/index.php Though I feel if I worked hard and spend a lot of money on advertising I could get the ball rolling again. Do you think that it is possible? Because to me it seems like a lot of large forums have webmasters who just sit back and enjoy the flow of new people. I dont know how my forum could have nearly one million posts and then drop off. Also if you like the site please feel free to join and post to get things going.
Hello, i looking your forum you have a good content, i would suggest you to make a ''Fantasy" design for your forum.
Thanks, hmm I thought with the Final Fantasy logo representing FFX that it did have such a design. Plus I am not much of a designer.
Post count doesnt count for anything if you havent got a constant stream of traffic, posters get tired, they burn them selves out, they loose interest in the subject and the job of the admin is to keep that flow coming with new sign ups and keep topics interesting. Id say that there are also other sites which offer more, run on more effective platforms because you havent modernised the site for sometime. Regardless of how many posters you have until you have serious numbers hitting the site daily there is always a chance it can slowly die off. All isnt lost and anything can be revived with a good budget or just plenty of time and hard work. It looks like you still have traffic, personally i would buy a commercial forum script, get rid of all the none related links all over the site, rework everything and then start promoting it again. If done properly it wouldnt be hard to get the site up there again ready for the next wave of Final Fantasy ( if there is one ? i would assume there is but im not a FF gamer so havent got a clue )
