Do You Think Marijuana Shoud Be Legal Or Not?

What do you think? Should Marijuana be legal?

Honestly I do not smoke the stuff but I believe it should be legal because I think we spend too much time and money fighting it and it is no worse then alcohol. If they keep it illegal they should at the very least make alcohol illegal as well.

 

I sort of agree with what you say -- but it would be hard to convince a large portion of our country.

 

True but money talks . Show them how much the war of drugs cost them. Show them what they could have for that money and how much not fighting mari jane can save them on there taxes and give them more money back at the end of the year it will change there mind really fast.

 

Another great point. Then again, on the other side, many would not care about the money because they would feel it is still unethical. Tough say.

Kind of a general thing to say. Not all "plants" are the same. A shrub does not have the same effects as marijuana. You're going to need to back that up more.

I feel as if I was responded to by a kid. I was only asking for you to back up your point of view more -- that's all.

 

Careful with that stuff, I had a hell of an experience with it.

As for making weed legal, if you think about it it's pretty clear that it should be.

For a start you've got the profits that could be made by the government, look how much they make a year from tobaco / alcohol tax, the same could be applied to MJ.
And lets not even go into the cost of the "war on drugs"

(more of a point for drugs in general, but it still standsYou've then got how much safer it would make the drug. At the moment picking up is generaly a pretty dodgy ordeal. Picking up off someone who could more often than not mug you quite easily if they really wanted to.
And even if you do get mugged (and it does happen), what can you do? "Please help officer, that man stole my drug money" :/

It would also take out so much of the risk of using drugs. You don't go to the shops to buy some cough medicine and find the chemist cutting it with harmful chemicals, they'd be shut down in an instant.
If drugs were legal it would become a huge industry, companies would be boasting about how pure their product is, and like the chemist, if they were found to be cutting would cause a huge scandal.

Then there's the advantage of proper education versus scare tactics. I can tell you now that what is published by the likes of talk to frank and other drug related websites is often far from the truth.
The advantage of a proper education to drugs, teaching people how to use them safely rather than just telling them not to (which has been working brilliantly until now ) would cut down on so many drug related casualtys.

I guess I'm a little one sided on this argument, having been quite involved in that "scene" in my younger days and talking to quite a few people about this. Either way it makes a great discussion

 

I think it should be legal, not harmful at all. Less harmful then caffee!!

 

if something makes people feel better and happier, no need to be illegal...
and i also think that alcohol is more harmful and makes people to lose consciousness more
so it should be legal...

 

It should be legal, but should carry health warnings like Tobaco

People that smoke are more creative in my opinion.

 

If it is legal, then it would not be as costly as it is now...! People would end up buying at the stores just like cigs.

It should be legal for many reason, but you can copyright a natural product like that. The amount of money Big Phrama will lose will be alot. Think what marijuana cures/helps compared to unsafe chemicals we are being sold with side effects. The amount they could make off it is not that good when you even out there lost.

The logging industry would be crushed hard, hemp paper is by far the best choice to go.
