Do you think keyword.us is worth this amount?

So I'm looking to buy an aged domain name for one of my new sites. I'm going to target a keyword with a 38,735 monthly search volume.

The selling of the keyword.us domain name is asking for $2,000 for it. It is an aged domain name as well.

Do you think it's worth it?

I know keywords in the domain name aren't that important. But still, it's not all about SEO. There is some value in the branding of the name. It's easy to remember. And such.

 

url is good (not the extension - it is not really that popular)
Good price for a .us extension.

 

It depends on the keyword.

If the keyword is like "petrocks", it'll be lower than say "luxurycars".

 

The domain is the keyword I want to target. That's what I mean by keyword.us

 

if it is a common, dictionary word - yes...if it's a trademarked or "made up" word that has all of the other extensions taken, then no

 

US market is pretty bad atm.

I've picked up decent 1 word .US names for far below 2k.
