In my opinion, java is so slow, complex and has many and many duplicate feature. A lot of feature is not stable and change so much. Many company provide their own solutions based on sun spec(JBOSS for example). About class loader hell, it make people crazy.
I hope it's around, because I've invested a lot of time in developing content around Java. I believe that it will be around, because it has a huge installed base and support community. It may not be around, because it can really be a pain in the butt to use.
It may not be popular in general applications. But it is huge in big business applications and it is also used a lot in mobile devices. So it is not going anywhere
I know in big business application, java is usually chosen. But i wonder if .NET can do the job java do? Create application in .Net does not cost so much as in java. Do you think so?
I'm a java coder but i also know a bit about .net and other languages but to make my post short: I would stay with Java.
you can`t do big project with .Net Secure Website and Server mostly programmed by J2EE. So Java is more powerful in big projects.
It is not correct, my friend. The most popular and secure web server is apache. It is written by C++ not by java. But i agree with you that java force programmer focus on security, coding convention and good habbit of design. I have written many big projects in .NET and delphi so i think java is not the only choice for big projects. But anyway, i love java and their IDE: eclipse. I really like eclipse so much.
You should not speak on things you have no knowledge of. it makes you look less of a fool when someone makes a knowledable counterpoint. I am working and have worked recently with banks who are migrating to .NET for many highly critical financial applications. They already have implemented .NET technologies and the results have been so good that they are moving other bits to it as well. Now these banks do multi-billion dollars in business using the .NET platform. The language is getting more powerful and more and more large projects (the company I work with currently had a few multi-million dollar projects) are being done or in the process of being scoped. In regards to the Original Question - Yes Java will be around for years to come. There is currently a very large demand for Java skills because of its versatility. Add to that the performance of the new generation computers and you have one mean programming/performing language.
Hi all, I never coding by java but I think Java will exist in future. _____________________ Computer Software
I'm sure it'll exist. It's one of the top coding languages and in my opinion pretty secure to most people out there. It's simple, and really easy for lots of people to work with it.
Dear My friend Claudek I know C#.Net very well and I worked on my master degree project with that and I have good knowledge in Java especially J2EE So I didn`t compare Java and .net without knowledge.
I was looking at workflow applications this morning and almost all of them were written in Java. I've had such poor experiences with reliability from Java applications that I rejected any potential application that was written in Java. I would do the same for any application written in .NET -- but none of the applications I reviewed were written in .NET.
Hi, Your master degree project is not a really large project in industry. So it can not use all features of language. Good knowledge does not mean you have practical experience. You can compare if you do it in practice and can give all the statistic of both language aspects. Regards,
