Am starting a blog about one of the biggest cities in USA, when the blog get like 8 posts, am thinking about make stickers with the url of the blog an paste them at some of the busiest places in the city, like train stations and busy streets. Do you think i will get some visits doing that?

Would search for it, to see what it is about?

Yes it would work, but converting that interest into something tangible may take work and getting repeat visits. I've checked out sites I've seen promoted that way.

Your approach can certainly work, but one important key to successful marketing is to not put all of your eggs in one basket. You need to constantly try and test various marketing campaigns to see which ones produce the best.

    This will definitely work.
My blog is about BEST buses in Mumbai, and I got a few banners placed near BEST Bus stops. It helped, but very few people were returning visitors.

However, a word of caution, be careful. Your actions *may* get counted as vandalism, so make sure you have all your bases covered.

You may want to try some free advertising on you blog for merchants to have your blog info handed out in the store. If you start getting a lot more members generating traffic you may at some time upgrade them to paying ads.

I also recommend having high quality content on your blog to create a big enough interest in people. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions about this.

I think that it could get you some traffic. Some people would be interested in what that sticker was about, what your blog is about. Give it a try, it can't hurt. Let me know how things work out.

Guerilla marketing only works for fashion and big name music artists.
This is not a blog technique.

The real "guerilla" way to do it is to do it bold. Think of the biggest celebrity in your blog's niche and send them a box filled with goodies. Marc Ecko of Echo unlimited used this tactic to jumpstart his fashion brand. Go To the big guys and send them a package. ask for a "shout out" on their blog instead. They'll post a link to your blog. and you'll get massive traffic overnight . even though its not really a blog technique, i think it'll really help you man. try it out

Your idea sounds interesting. I would do something with a QR code, put a cool image of the location and a QR code underneath allowing the users who scan it with the mobile phone/tablet to learn more information, even send to your URL :)

Yes, it will work but you can also use these posters as in e-poster form and share in social media for getting more visits.

it's been done before and it's a cool trick but try to put something mysterious on the sticker to attract people.
