Two questions here, really. Do you think it's possible to be friends with the opposite gender? What about after dating the person and the relationship doesn't work out, do you think it's possible to be just friends after that?

No. A heterosexual man and a woman can never be platonic friends, unless one of them is gay. This happens because the male is constantly consumed by the idea of sleeping with her. Every man who says he will not sleep with his female friend if given the chance, is a liar. If however they do become 'friends', in the long run it will always evolve into a romantic relationship. It's as they say: Friends can become lovers, lovers can't become friends. If the friendship doesn't not become a romantic relationship, then this is interfered by outside causes (lifestyle, not being single etc.) but you should know that both friends would have fantasized for a considerable amount of time how it would be like if they were together in a romantic relationship a.k.a fucking each other. That is all.

well yeh . i have a gr8 freind who is a girl i am not gay lol !! we have been freinds since high school and i dont see the prob with it shes awsome freind and i would never think of her anyless even if i had dated her
It's only possible if the girl is completely turned off by the guy. The guy is always going to want something more, unless like someone else said he's gay. The girl, on the other hand, can always keep a guy as a friend and never move past that stage if she's completely unattracted to him. Let this be a note - if you've been a 'friend' of a girl for a long time and haven't gotten any further than that, you're probably unattractive.
