I believe it, but I welcome you to write to the polling agency to correct them. But I don't believe just anything. I'm always on the lookout for al-taqiyya, if you know what I mean ;)

It was a poll for a TV show. Always biased, never concerned with truth.

    wtf is al-taqiyya

I don't comment on this because you said every thing. like the leaders of crusaders every religion/state/country has such elements which misguide people. why are you expecting different from other religions?

Thats not the interpretation of Quran. What has been written in the Quran true, yes it says to kill and fight but those who try to kill you, take away your lands, who vituperate and try to eradicate your religion etc...

But every verse has a context, if you simply read one verse and interpret it that it teaches us nothing but the voilance that wouldn't be fair.

I'll suggest if you qoute Quranic verses please do also quote its context. Many non-muslims just take the text of their intrest and maligned Islam that it teaches voilance.

Word Islam means Peace, and it starts with peace and ends with peace.
You mentioned Ignorance, I bet none of the person, quoted against the Islam on this thread and others, has carefully studied the Islam and its beliefs. You said what you have been taught by media.

I like how they claim the verses are out of context yet can never manage to put them into context.

So, what is the correct context of that verse? What do you understand it to mean?

No, islam means submit. It does not mean peace. The media does not teach about islam. If anything, the media is yours and islams best friend, in that they refuse to cover such things all together. It's people that take the time to do their own research. It's people that question "if islam is about peace and tolerance, why is it responsible for so much misery in the world? If islam is about tolerance, why does islam preach to hate Jews? If islam is tolerant, why isn't there a Synagogue or Catholic church in mecca?"

If islam is "peace and tolerance," why do they teach their children that Jews (and Christians) are sons of pigs and apes?

The media, at least here in the US, will not touch these things. They whitewash islam with the usual platitudes of "tiny minority," "out of context," "peace and tolerance" BS that simply serves to sweep the problem under the carpet.

There are no "out of context" verses. The context is overwhelmingly clear. Stop making excuses for it. Either stand up and be proud about it, or start a petition in your local mosque to change these verses and rewrite the quran from the book of evil it currently is, to what you wish it were. It is not us "infidels" that need to hear the message that islam is peaceful and "out of context," it is muslims who need to hear and adhere to this message and take action within their communities to start the change.

Be bold, stand up in your mosques and declare "Isreal would leave us alone if we left them alone. Let's start a charity to benefit Jews in Israel. Let's start charities to help out Christians in Darfur because our brothers there are butchering them on a scale that would make even hitler proud."

    Actions, speak louder, than words.

The verses arn't out of context, and if they are, proove it.
I prooved my point with verses posted all over this forum I personally looked up.

I think World War 3 has started, but it hasn't hit people yet.. its like when Germany invaded the czechs, 1938, before we realized "Oh, we should... start fighting!?"

I think this is on a larger scale though, and because of the lack of leadership and people with a spine nowadays (Churchill had a spine , I wish he was still alive), we are in even greater danger of loosing this long-term war.

Its so depressing.. like that movie Terminator 3, that was awful depressing. I'll just have to play some counter-strike to cheer myself up :)

EDIT: This poll is so inaccurate with you morons re-registering, you should be banned. I'd have to say I think its honestly 50/50 if you take out the reg-regys.

I don't believe the numbers either. I believe that the actual numbers are far higher. This is only the ones who admitted to approving of the terrorist attack.

Let me clear what context is:

every verse was revealed upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in certain periods like they were ordered to kill infidals when muslims were at war but at the same time they were also ordered not to kill childeren, women and ederly people or those who don't fight you, don't destroy their fields, homes, infrastructure when you get victory over your enemy. Forgive those and leave them to their homes if they surrender.

Verses in Quran are interlinked, if you want to understand one verse you have to go by it context and its preceding verses and successor verses.

    I have read this quote:
The good is Knowledge, and the evil is Ignorance.

and If you think for moment, it says the truth. When ever poeple were ignorant they have done nothing constructive. I am not here to go by tit for tat, its the matter of understanding if you are willing to understand no one can misguide but if decide not to listen other no one can guide.

Could you post the previous verse that indicates they were at war? Along with the number of the verse and location in the Quran.

Your own words DONT proove anything. Back it up. Stop the double speak.
