Hi , Can i send this to Dmoz : H.O.R.S.E Poker Guide right now or i should wait ? and what should i do before i send it to review by them ?? you can guess i never did it before .... Thanks .
nice idea for a site no offence, but you should polish up the english a little bit, the wording is a little awkward.... I don't know if dmoz takes that into account or not
First we are looking for unique content and perhaps you would like to glance at this http://www.nichepoker.net/texas-hold-em-strategy/horse-poker/ Second we can live with some grammatical problems etc, presentation is not important to us. Chose the right category and use the submit form, but believe it may be a long time before your site gets reviewed and if it is rejected or accepted you will not be informed, so go and promote your site anywhere else, after submitting..... there will be nothing more you can do in ODP to promote it.
Hi , I got to explaine myself .... my english is not very good , like ruffnat said in the first response on that thread : "the wording is a little awkward" -he said that about the home page and he was right , i went into the "Content Creation Forum" and ask some 1 to re-write the page for $3 . and yes ... he copied some parts from there .... anyway i removed that when i saw that ... like 5-6 hours later . it was my mistake to upload that in the first place anyway .... to my question : do i have enough content to submit the site on DMOZ ?? i know it will take 2 month at least to review by them . Thanks .
Greekhand, I like your attitude, if you want you can pm me and I will help you with the English on that page for no charge.
Poker is very popular these days, greekhand, and so the list is likely to be a long one, but you do seem to have unique content on the site now. Good luck.
"First we are looking for unique content..." "We can live with some grammatical problems etc, presentation is not important to us..." Just out of curiosity, what actually IS important to you guys? I see loads of total BS websites in those DMOZ poker categories.
Presentation and flash sites have no part in the decision to list. We list for unique content, I have ignored that we do not list white page type pages that just contain an address, but otherwise if the site loads and contains unique content then it should get listed somewhere (some exceptions on affiliates, illegal sites and spider food sites) but that is broadly true. We also do not easily list for a deeplink, there are some exceptions where the content is exceptional but not usually in the same tree as the parent (and some left over seeding pages which have been there for years, before others add that!). Oh and it should be complete. But you can check over the criteria here http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html and see the detail on affiliation and spider sites etc. If you explain what you mean by a quality site, in your eyes, I am sure someone will probably comment further.
