Some people claim that my site could be listed in first google page if using their SEO tools,

    What tools do you mean?
Nothing can guarantee you a listing in Google.

I doubt there are tools that can guarantee you 1st position in google. There are however free online tools that can provide very useful information (page saturation, keyword density, keyword tools, back links checker and so on) to help you optimise your pages and hopefully gain better rankings. Check out seocompany.ca/tool/seo-tools.html

NO tools can guarantee you to become #1. They can help you by simply saving your time... I mean that tools simply automate your manual work, so you can do your SEO manually, but tools... well, some of them... can do all the boring and tedious work for you. And some of these tools save a LOT of your time

    As for
I'd say that there's so few GOOD free tools, that sometimes it's better to pay some bucks then wasting time trying to make a free tool work. IMO

I would reccomend learning all the basic free tools first. You should know how to check backlinks and such manually. Then you can look around for some seo software that will help you take some shortcuts.

What good free tools do you think aren't available. We're looking at coding some for our company site. Suggestions would be helpful.

Some tools just save your time, but there are no tools that could guarantee you place in top.

Well usualy SEO Tools only can find you good keywords, help you to find similar keywords, etc

Now of course that keywords like : "the blue do like kissing white cats" , you can always be on first page on google.

However, nothing in this world, but nothing may replace the power of backlinks!

remeber this :The only good SEO Tools are those for fiding keywords, or for helping you track your backlinks (or your competitors backlinks). In my conception on-site optimizations helps are all bull...shits
