Ok, I have been trying out this way of learning, without really paying attention. I always have alot of work to do, and dont really have time to catch up on some basic stuff that I really should have learned in high school lol. So anyways, I downloaded a bunch of "learning videos", mostly for math (I really want to be a better programmer), and some for learning spanish. And what I have been doing is putting these on, while I work and do other stuff, I never really can pay much attention at all to what is happening on the videos while I work, but I have been thinking that if I just keep playing these, I will eventually learn subconsciously - but will I ever actually learn it? I have so far done this with the spanish learning video, just played the first 3 while I work, and I just keep playing the first 3, I have probably had them on 5 or 6 days so far, so I have seen the first 3 parts 5 or 6 times, but have not "paid attention". I seem to have learned a little bit, obviously not as much as I would learn if I just sat down and paid attention 1 or 2 times, but thats not the point. I usually am playing music or listening to tv in the background while I work, that is 8-12 hours a day that useless junk is being launched into my subconscious, does anyone think I will see a difference in my knowledge if I traded music and tv background noise for learning videos, and lectures and what not, even if I am not paying attention at all? (The volume is pretty loud, so I "hear" it all...) Ok, well, thats it, sorry for rambling! I just think it would be great to be able to learn like this, but wondering if its pointless or not...
