To you he is the truth, not to everyone, but yet again you show to have no tollerance at all.

The devil might be in other religions, it doesn't make it not a christain belief, nor does it make it part of witchcraft. So instead of answering you twist yet again.

According to most holy men and women walking around dressed like monsters and witches is just fine, good fun ;) Where is the harm?

Reading a book is a bit different than practicing that religion is it not? But of course you have no problem with forcing other religions to read the bible, or beliefs of the bible..

Who is twisting what? Your continuos claim that I force my beliefs is totally false. Do I stop you from wearing a witch costume and going around asking for lollies?

I am giving you a Christian perspective. And hopefully this will answer it for you: Jesus said go into all the world and preach the word. He didn't say go and convert the whole world.

Even though I sincerely wish you would convert to Christianity. This way there would be more folks in heaven. ;)

You know what I find interesting.. The Jehovah's Witness's do not believe in Halloween, will not celebrate it at all.

Now you just have to wonder. One day a year, people get dressed up and go door to door, knocking on people's doors.. It's the one time a year you are pretty much assured that someone will actually answer the door.

Me thinks the Jehovah's are missing out here. :)

#1 you force your views by talking about forcing christians creationism, not getting why a coin should not have god, the pledge and more.
#2 A bit hard to convert to something I already am.

It is not 'the christian' perspective, most christians do not see a problem with Halloween.

Tons as in what, maybe 5% of the population? I'd like to see some numbers, I however highly doubt it's 'tons' or anywhere near a majority of the christian population.

In the United States, it's just fun. The costumes tend to not even be scary anymore. It's just an excuse to dress up like something crazy.

I'm not talking about a majority of the Christian population, and I am assuming that you don't have any exact numbers either. You are basing your opinions on the Christians that you know personally and I am doing the same.

I am basing it off of every year polls are done, priests and interviewed and the vast majority from what I see every year do not see a problem with it.

Logic would also say if they had a problem with it Halloween would not go over very well in a mostly christian nation, instead it's a pretty big holiday ;)

Bypass the logic of the US being mostly christian yet the holiday being pretty damn popular ;)

A link to stats that are on TV every year, sorry but I can not link to a TV program. I'm sure I can look for some.

I however find this hysterical, the reason to be against Halloween.

Yet much of the bible is based off of stories from previous religions including witchcraft, that however is fine

The posters who have linked Halloween - "All Hallows Eve" - to its origin in Samhain are right, and as much as Wicca has any connection to the religion of the indigenous peoples of Western Europe, it is a harmless thing. I practiced it, once upon a time, and retain fond memories of its inherent respect for woman (and man), life-giving, and nature (I am very much a Jungian in mind and heart, and tapping into the wisdom of our species is a very real thing, to me; subject of another thread). Personally I've never felt more connected to the earth I walk on than when observing the seasonal cycles as I once did. I think we could all use a little of the green horned one, and the priestess.

Like Christmas, nothing like its original intent remains. Christmas, originally Yule, was born in a pagan notion, the promise of rebirth in the depths of winter; and the coming ascendancy of the sun at Summer Solstice and the harvest. But both are a great day and night for kids. Knock yourselves out, little ones.

I found tons of them, all show most of the US population taking part in halloween.

    http://www.contracostatimes.com/business/ci_7169405
    this one shows
    http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/...iven_away__amp_other_halloween_statistics.htm
    This one states
These however are not polls of it being evil or not, just if you are taking part. If it was evil one would assume you would not take part, others will not take part simply because it's unfun to them or does not interest them. If this is true, those who view it as evil is extremely low.

I generally spend $80 a year on candy.. Aside from getting the good stuff, we had about 130 kids last year.. It is insane on our block. My parent had 2 last year..

Last year my neighbors and I all converged at the same house and combined forces, candy that is. The girls took the kids trick or treating, and we sat and drank beer, watched the packers and handed out candy at ONE house... We had to make 3 more candy runs than beer runs.. It was nuts...

I have no idea how much candy to even get!
We just moved into town from a little tiny village. The old place we simply bought a few bags, put it into a bowl and let it ride. Normally a couple of candy bars is all that was taken.

Now in town, in the prime area of town errr I might have my work cut out for me!

I might actually have to work handing out candy!

I just hope I don't scare the little buggers!

GRIM, the last couple of years I buy the McGruff Crime bags and get my company name/web site and number printed on them. I fill them with brochures and coupons and then put 2 pieces of candy in each..

Then there is no over grabbing and the kids have a nice safe reflective trick or treat bag... Gets lots of business too!!!

I love halloween, I believe that it was once to represent witchs in the US. However I think over the years it as become an evil thing, nothing to do with Satan though. More scary movies, and characters.
