I think Google will remain the #1 search engine for all time.

They have had a decade putting together their infrastructure ie. data centres. They have invested alot of money in gmail, Chrome and Android.

They can just buy off any new innovative company or technology to add to their portfolio.

Nothing is forever in the universe.
But If Google keep continuing their best services and update with the changing world then it'll be an unique search engine in the history of IM. And I hope so it'll be.

Before Google was Yahoo,so Google will definitely stay and go one day.As for Google vs Facebook,I think
we shouldn't be talking about that as both are not in the same market and should not be compared at all.

I think Google will be #1 top position for more than 10 years at least. However, face-book popularity is growing each day. It is possible that face-book may #1 rank. But what if new search engine comes instantly and become #1. No one know about future timing.

No, I don't think so. Five years from now, I think Google will have been supplanted by a better SE (after all, this is still how they draw most of their traffic).

Facebook is just a playground for how to say, dumb users. In internet sense. A place for casual fun and boredom killing.
Google still has and will have most complex and high tech search engine ever, and a bunch of other apis/platforms and stuff that are used by websites, people and just about everybody.

I don't like FB also, which may add some subjective note in this opinion.
