Looking at their current position, I don’t think Google is going anywhere soon.

Even nowadays we have other browsers besides Google, but it's still the number one and most people use Google as their default browser, and it's especially being used for ads and running campaigns. So, I would never say it will die, in fact, it will only continue growing and progressing, there are some issues regarding its privacy policies and indexing and ranking shifting, but still, it will stay as relevant as it was.

True, but look at Philip Morris. When people realize all the privacy abuses going on behind the scenes, Google's light will dim.

Google is not dying, it is stagnating as the ultimate source of the world’s information. It is impossible for Google to die!

I hope it will be relevant one day. Because it is not nowadays.
Unless you like to make your private live public. In that case it is equally relevant as Facebook.
I think both will die soon as people starting to understand why privacy is important, at last.

It will be tough to de-throne Google. The US will be a superpower for life since it is doing what the other empires fail to see, having force but preferring deals - carrots and sticks.
I have seen so many attempts at toppling Google, and they were just bought up and left to share the profits. I doubt we will live to see it.

With the position of the google search engine, I doubt that there will be any real competition in the near future.

The Roman Empire fell after centuries of ruling most of the then-known world. It was similar for the empires of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia and, even in modern days, the British (world-wide colonial) empire. Twitter probably felt invulnerable until a guy named Elon Musk came along with his billions of $$. You're never too big to fall.

The more I think about it, I'd say you're both right.
