Yeah, it will come back around in the second quarter of 2010. It will start to slowly get better before that, but I think a full recovery by 2010.

I think yes economy will be in better condition and in 2010/11 ( Q2) and many experts suggesting this but it doesn't means the World's government sleep now. They have to take steps as they are taking right now.

Yes indeed.....the world economy will be doing quite good in 2010..the process of recovery will begin somewhere around the later half of 2009....

So....2009 will also be not that bad !... imo

Bring it on... about time all the slackers getting by purely because the markets are going well are put back in their place. Poorly run businesses will pay the price, and strong businesses will thrive and become even better as the competition becomes weaker. This in turn will lead to better service, better products and better prices as businesses fight to compete. Eventually some will die, others will become bigger. Eventually, they'll forget why they got big in the first place and start slacking, and round and round we'll go again :)

I wish that the economic situation gets better in 2009 but I think by 2010 everything will be on track. Let's hope for the best! :)

i don't see a point in commenting when it will recover, but i also hope that the day is coming soon. think about it, its not COMPLETELY bad to have this situation, don't get me wrong though its pretty bad. The reason why I say this is because this is now flushing out all those big corp scams and stuff, i see this a clensing of some sort, and hopefully this will teach more if not everyone to not do things....."black hat" way...

but i seriously hate AIG, this company's executives need to go

i don't see how you are still in the green when almost everything went down and under more than 40%, the bank sector was said to be the safest investment, look at them....

It's quite difficult to predict. Most people would say that by the end of 1st half of year 2010, the economy will start to pick up again. As much as I want to believe it's true, I just really hope it will happen.

Alot of people are think the recession is awful, which no doubt it is...But people like myself that have a steady lower-mid level paying job thats recession proof benefit. Lower prices in stores, hotels, vehicles, homes. I'm all for the recession

Amid all this messy aftermath of the American economic meltdown which has so rapidly contaminated
the other great economies, chances are, recovery may not start right in these same countries,
but probably will come from the third world countries where the worst that is taking place
is only some degree of economic slowdown, hence not much damage, leaving much wider
room for immediate recovery. Developing countries such as Singapore, Hongkong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea,
Taiwan, the Philippines, could well be take-off areas to worldwide economic recovery. India also has
great potentials but is sadly directed on more ambitious, long-range goals in the outer space. China is already apparently raring to go at it. But the question is, will Europe and the Western Hemisphere allow the idea?
Consequential with economic supremacy is domination, and there is no denying the urgency of a world power if only to assure international peace and order thru an effective balance of power.

None of us are economists out here, so it is quite difficult to predict.

IMO it might be 2011 or 2012 when the world starts to recover.

I think we'll see different recoveries in different sectors and in different countries.
    In the UK I predict:

    Property Recovery - 2011
    Finance Sector - 2010
    Retail Sector - 2010
