    Certainly are!
    Just visit http://www.dnjournal.com and click on "Sales" to see that just this week there were 6 reported sales of 6 figures or more. And I personally know of 3 other sales that reached that mark that had NDA's signed.

    Of course, it depends on the name. Some domain names like premium keywords or 2-3 character domains are very valuable, while some others only have value when developed.
