Hey do you think hiring a copywriter for your affiliate sales pitch (I am talking about the case when you are an affiliate and not the product owner) is a good choice? Does the copywriters skill help in making a good presales pitch?
Isnt copywriter more like writing to sell for a company rather than writing to sell for some others company while working for another company? Let me make it more clear. I have not heard of copywriters being hired for Call to action type articles affiliate marketers use to sell affiliate products (Direct people to others website). But I have heard of copywriters being hired to direct selling by product owners. Some copywriters charge a whooping sum of 200-500$ per 200-300 word articles. So is there an ROI in that?
I would think that copywriters could be hired for almost anything, and the market will bear out what they'd be paid for. Just because you haven't heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I will say this, though. Just because you spend a lot of money on a copywriter doesn't mean you're guaranteed better success. Many advertising companies charge hundreds of thousands to produce commercials and sales pitches that fall flat. I figure these companies are buying on perception and past successes, which could be even as low as a 25% success rate. But that rate might be considered high for the industry, kind of like baseball, where batting success means you get a hit 3 times out of every 10 at bats.
A copywriter is someone who can write to sell, period. It doesn't matter if it's to sell someone on buying a product, sell someone to join a list, sell someone on a company or anything else. An article can be part of a copywriter's job IF that article is designed to sell somehow (soft or hard---image or ring the register). If the article is journalistic in nature, it's not copywriting.
Definitely. A good copywriter should be able to write copy that convinces the reader to do whatever it is you want them to do.
When I'm hiring writers I find that many people throw the term Copywriting around for their qualifications, but when interviewed they really haven't a clue. If you find a solid Copywriter they should be able to write Affiliate campaign pitches well. Just give them a quick interview to make sure they really are a "Copywriter." Good luck
If you're just getting in to affiliate marketing and not the best writer, it might be a good idea to get in contact with a student or even a friend who is looking for experience or extra pennies. Offer a small cut of the profits and hope the money rolls in!
I am not looking to hire someone. i was planning to join a copywriting course and would like to see if it would give me any advantage
Whether you're the "product owner" or whether you're an affiliate, your goal is exactly the same: to get people to buy the product. I have seen some really pathetic affiliate "sales" pitches written in poor English, using a "cheap-cheap" article writer to write the content. No catchy headlines, no bullets, no benefits. These pages are so boring, and so poorly constructed, how can they ever dream of getting people to (1) believe in the product (2) take advantage of the offer? As an affiliate you should be just as focused and professional about delivering a professional site with an excellent sales pitch to motivate people to buy. Isn't that what affiliate marketing is all about?
I'd definitely think it would give you an advantage. I think it gives you much more control over your business because knowledge is power, right?
