Do you think Askthebuilder really makes $2K a day?

Of course this figure was touted about a year ago and given that his traffic would no doubt have increased some more by now, his earnings should have increased as well. $2k is $60K a month and very close to three-quarter of a million a year.

Do you think he makes that much or was he trying to big up his site through some clever marketing as of course he must have gotten a ton of backlinks as a result of divulging stats.

One thing I am not going to doubt, however, is the fact that his site is an extremely high quality site even if it looks a little too ad heavy.

Oh heck yeah he is, he's getting over 500,000 unique visitors a day and ranking on numerous search phrases, his adsense is integrated and google lets him get away with questionable ad-placement. I'm sure he's making that much or more, the category and sub-niches that his site is in all have pretty decent paying advertisers.

I am sure the stats are true to be honest. The quality is great and with ads placed so nicely, the site couldn't help but earn a nice amount of money.

Thinking of it again, he probably does make that and more because he must now be getting close to 1 million uniques a month and he no doubt he has a very good CTR given his placements are very good and very in your face, sometimes almost difficul to make out if they are ads or not.

However, given that his is an extremely high qulaity one (as far as the content is concerned), I don't think anyone would begrudge him. He is a great example why adsense is a great source to earn a lot of money if you have a great site and great traffic. He desrves it for sure.

I must say his site designer (the designer may be himself, I am not sure) has done a great job at blending the ads. Just look at the page below, for example, its impossible to tell if those are ads under the Countertops title (but they are).

Darn how can these sites get the treatment and do not the get reprimand! I think they are the lucky ones I guess as Google favors them.... I hope the rules applies to everyone so that we can level with these guys if we can or course...not me up to now but someday....wishful thinking? I trying my best...

Lucky are those who make that much!

    Thanks

He is a premium adsense publisher and can do whatever he wants with the adsense ad's. Make google a ton of money and google will return you the favor with a phat paycheck.

The website is very well designed and let's askthebuilder for a loan...

It's a cool site and i'm sure he'll convert with Adsense rather well.

It's good to hear when individual publishers do well like that as most of the big earners tend to be the large corporate type sites.

I was earning with my 50-100 unique visitors a day 0.50. It is possible for him to earn much more than 2k

    Lets have a lil calculation

    (500000*0.5 )/50(100) = 5000 (2500)

He can work up to 5k a day

Ye, earning 60k from Adsense monthly is damn impressive. Guy must be a hard worker, a genius or just lucky. :)

Where're you getting your numbers from because that site gets around 560,000 visitors per month, not day? I don't think he makes $2,000 a day just from AdSense. He sends emails (with affiliate links most likely) to people who subscribe to his list so that's where most of his earnings come from.

Well, he must be getting around 20K uniques or more a day now and possibly 2 or 3 pages per user. Even if we take 2 page per unique visitor (I am sure its more than that), that still gives us well over 1 million page views a month. And given that his ads are extremely closely related to his content and traffic that is highly relevan and a a very good CTR (given how well-placed the ads are), he probably does actually make $2K or more now.

My guess is that his actual page views are probably 1.5 million a month.

Even though his ads are in your face, his site design is actually very good and the ads look part of his content rather spammy. His done this very well. All in all, the site design is actually very good for a site like this.

In looking at the site I can see where he would get a lot of accidental clicks. I accidentally clicked on one by mistake. It is very well intigrated. Makes me want to work harder.

What do you think his ctr is?

Sure, but accidental clicks is not what people should be clicking. The advertisers get very low quality traffic in the end and this is why I would stay away from AdWords if you do not have a large advertising budget and a working business model that is already proven to bring you money.

You would think that a site as big as that would not want people to click so much on those ads because eventually they will leave the page and usually never come back. I think he should work on making user's experience better, not look for cheap accidental clicks. That site could make a lot more money through other ways and AdSense should not be their priority.
