    that's a good question. i haven't seen any hard evidence to say this is true although i could be wrong.

    I personally do believe that pop ups do hurt a little bit but not too much.

    I don't think so. I have a "few" (ahem, cough cough) ads on my site vegetablecruelty.com and it currently has PR 5.

    I doubt they would hurt the search engine rankings, but if they're extremely annoying of which I feel 100% of popups are, then I doubt your conversion rate would be any good.
