I am slowly going to be advertising my new site plus my other bid directories. And it hit me as I was looking at the many offerings here on DP and other forums. Why should I buy links on any directory that do not buy links on one of mine? I will be in the future only buying links on directories that have bought links on one of my directories. How about you? What are your thoughts on this?
Do you buy a link to do a favor for the directory owner? No, you are buying a service. If the link was not worth it you wouldn't buy it anyways. so, No, if I think a backlink is worth its cost I buy it otherwise I don't.
if you bidded high on mine i would start to notice you. I would keep checking your site and when i saw progress i will probably bid. Its not a question of "if you bid i will bid", its waiting for your site to become valuable enough.
I dont like supporting bid directories! Its like reciprocal linking, and i would just see the quality.
its not about the reciprocal links though Chetan. Its about bidding high on a rivals site to get a share of the traffic.
Yep understood, but i would always not try to bid in the directories which bid in my directory. I would check how that directory owner is really working on it. But for the highest bids, for traffic sharing.. i think supporting each other wouldnt be a bad idea
Well of course. Just because someone bids on yours doesnt mean their site needs bidding on. But if a quality site that you had never seen bidded on yours, it would be to your advantage to bid back.
There no point supporting the bidding directory reciprocal but if the link is 3-way thats quite a good way
Lol.... I don't think support should be the right word used. If someone submits a blog, real estate site or anything as such we cannot show love back. But yes, if I see a quality bid directory and trusted owner I do goahead and submit my link, I don't care if he submit backs to me. - That's the way it should be.
I don't necessarily buy a link from someone simply because they got one from me. If I did that, then it would be a recip (I don't believe recips are worth much these days)... I buy a link if the price is not too high (I'm not a rich man) and I figure I will get value out of it.
I only bid in directories which I feel that the owners are actually doing some promotion for it. Its not a question whether they bidded on mine or not, most of the time I find myself biding on directories which are not listed in mine anyway.
I've bought listings at almost everyones site that advertises with me. It is sort of returning a favor but I get value from it and if they weren't quality I wouldn't be linking to them in the first place. I think it's good thing to do if you can. Rob
Now there's a walking definition of a quality site review Just be done with it and report yourself and your directories to Matt Cutts. There's nothing wrong with reciprocal links as long as they are relevant links and not obviously bought and paid for links.
I think the key is to research where you are linking to, and who is linking back, because one bad link could wipe out many good links - we have found this happen.
Most people who own 10 or more directories don't usually link to each other because its considered a recip... the consensus is that recips are not worth as much as one way linking. As far as not obviously bought... yahoo directory and BOTW makes no bones about receiving $$$ for links. I'm wondering why the rest of us need to pussyfoot around the issue.
People will advertise once you have traffic. To get traffic you need to advertise..after that you don't have to look for advertiser but advertisers will look for your site. see our site http://www.a1bidlinks.com and for that we are not looking for advertiser..but we allready spend $1700 so we are getting very good traffic and looking to spend $45000 more.. What you say...friends?
