In a way, yes. Let's take the example of movie sharing-I mean not all of us can afford to watch movies in theatres or buy original DVDs, can we? So, it's somewhat better for those people to get it from the net directly.

No, not at all. Internet piracy is illegal. The i-net pirate is in some aspects the same as the pirates from Middle Ages. They only do miseries.

Why should we care, the government and companies should do a better job to stop illegal file sharing lol

And now it's gone even worser, because before you had to download a film now you can stream the whole film online with DVD quality Lol, it saves a lot of space on your hard drive lol

Yes, I definitely support it ! Someone may ask, why .. Here's the answer - I know what means Open Source and if I see something NOT Open Source, I want to get it as Open Source ( which means, pirated stuff ).

My view on internet piracy is that, Companies can stop it by reducing prices of heir products.
Just to earn so much they price their products so high, so people cant afford to buy original products and in the end they go for pirated ones. Eg: Microsoft's windows OS is Over priced, that's the reason they are suffering from piracy big time, they should reduce their price, so that everybody can afford it, and piracy will go down for sure.

So my answer is NO, i do not support internet piracy, but at the same time i support that companies should price their products with justice for their consumers.

They should make it cheap, Here in India now directors are demanding 50% Profit share in ticket sales from the multiplexes when they are already earning in crores they still want more profit if that happens prices will increase for customers and then more people would prefer downloading then going to the theatre to watch.

I am well aware that internet piracy is illegal and bad. But, who could blame me? I've downloaded tons of movies and educational stuff directly from the net, without having to pay a single cent. Freebies are always great. Why buy DVDs or rent them, when I have my own resources on the net. Let's face it people, I don't want to be a hypocrite and all but internet piracy exists for the simple reason that it is free and useful.

    True I Support It,
I mostly Opt For Open Source Softwares,
If I dont find Them Easy To Use Or not Upto The Mark I use I-Pirated Stuff,
Everyone cant Afford To Buy Most Of The Softwares,
If companys Make softwares And games For Cheap And Can Be Shared In Family That Could Be Good,
i recently Heard That People Who Buy Game Dvd's can Only Use The key For For Some times(dont Know Exactly)

I own a lot of legal software that cost me quite a bit, but I would never have become their customer if I would not have had the possibility to get used to their programs by using free pirated version. Trial versions most of the time don't satisfy me, though there are exceptions. I also buy movies that I truly enjoy, that are worth watching more than once. But if I go to theaters and watch a hyped but totally worthless movie then I am as much ripped of as they are.

It is actually quite simple. If people have the money to buy the stuff they usually do it, but if they don't they download it and see if this is worth earning the hard money and making the investment.

So I encourage everyone to buy legal stuff if they have money for it and they think the product is really great.

I buy everything I use commercially - it's all written off in my tax return.

But yes, I support piracy to a degree, mostly because I can't stand DRM and copy protection in anything I purchase. There's certainly no way anyone (or any copy protection) is going to stop piracy, and DRM/copy protection only negatively affects the legitimate user in the long run.

    Arrr matey!
