Do You Squidoo? Good way to get free traffic

I went crazy and created several lenses a few months ago. While I have not seen a ton of traffic I think it is still a good way to get the word out (and get a few decent inbound links as well). I even made a few bucks in the process.

There are no guarantees or promises of traffic if you build a lens. If you get it from the community its a bonus, but otherwise it's like any other website, you must feed it with traffic.

Usually the traffic will increase once your page is indexed in google. Since it is only 10 days old, it probably isn't indexed yet. Also, make sure you have good tags set up on your lens so when you are indexed you can make the most out of it. Good luck!

It's not a splash page. Just have alook at any of the ones people are listing here (hopefully they've actually finished them, and they're not a work in progress).

And there's many different ways you can use it.

Wow, I've set a personal best:

Basic HTML for Squidoo at #9
and Advanced HTML for Squidoo enters the Top 100 for the first time at #85.

I'm pleased with todays results for those sister lenses (or are they mother and daughter?).

 

Congratulations! Top 10 is almost impossible to achieve, but I see that lens has 126 ratings, 14 pages of guestbook entries, a pagerank of 4 and probably a huge number of regular visitors. It just goes to prove that it's worth taking the time to provide useful content.
