Did you ever smoke and try to quit? I have been smoking for 5-6 years and I'm not smoking for 2 days now. This is not the first time I try this but best was 8 days or something like that. It is really hard to quit this shit. Anyone have any suggestions?

    My mum just quit.

I think it helps to replace the habbit, she just joined the gym at the same time. I was also addicted to coke (cola) for years, until I was physically sick from drinking too much (8 cans+ every day, without eating much), about a year ago, but now all I drink is water and fruit juice, which replaced my habit. So start a hobby or do something to keep your addictive personality happy.

    Hey Parad0x,

IO answer to the Q in your post check http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=70530&page=4&highlight=crave (2nd post up from the bottom.

I have smoked for 5/6 years. Before I quit I smoked about 15 a day (but if I went out drinking it could easily be 30.

I have now quit for well over two weeks. I still feel like absolute shit but am slowly getting better.

That post I showed you was mid craving!! Cravings are slowly subsiding. I got pissed as a vicar the other day and didn't smoke so that is good.

It is fuck*ing difficult quitting but youre doing well mate. Stick in there buddy.

If you don't quit now youre only going to have to go through what youve gone through so far again.

    Keep at it mate!!
    Good luck
    Notting (a fellow non-smoker!!)

I quit right around January 2nd of this year..
Smoked heavily for at least 13 years before this, 3-4 packs most days, some day a little less others more.

    Chew gum for 1
    Gym helps as well..
    Something to look forward to...:)

It's possible..I had tried to quit before w/o any luck. This time however for some strange reason I was able to quit w/o any problems. Haven't had a craving at all. Can be around others smoking and it doesn't bug me. I haven't even cheated 1 time!...

Ok I know the reason that really helped me, but not devulging that here..

Your mind set though is the most important..

    Good luck..

I smoked for 10 years and quit for almost 5 now.

I do not think its possible to ever "quit". I think you are only in remission

I never have smoked, not even tried. But it goes against me some times.

    How?

Ask your friend, who is not a smoker.
