Hi, We're having a discussion at the office. We're trying to decide what most people do: - Slice their design in Photoshop and develop from there - Use the visual design as an example and code it from nothing - Other..
Anyone who uses Photoshop to slice their design and use that code is either lazy, inexperienced or incompetent.
To be honest I'm not a fan of Photoshop slice tool and I find it easier selecting the object I need and saving it as image, it takes less time which means - WINNING.
I choose other In my case I just select a specific CMS theme appropriate to the site I am making. Then replace the image resources and CSS as needed later on.
Surely it's not fare to group the inexperienced with the lazy and incompetent (because they have much to learn), but I'd say "Anyone experienced who uses Photoshop to slice their design and use that code is either lazy or incompetent". Personally, I think it depends on the situation - there are times when a little slice can save a lot of hassel so I won't write it off completely, but generally coding from nothing is much better for load times, geek factor and overall satisfaction
code it by hand. slicing from photoshop is pretty old way of creating html. but those who dont know html and css still making pages by slicing.
