I was wondering if you find and post a great news story to your blog do you go to Big established blogs in your niche and submit the news? If you do did you have any success driving traffic to your blog? On a side note, I did that once and the story was posted at the "Big blog" a few days later but they didn't reference my blog as the source but another source that posted the news two days after me. Oh!, and one last question, do you have any tips about submitting news stories to high traffic sites and blogs?
I usually do it and the percentage of tips sent vs published articles by the big blog is kind of low, one of the reasons could be that there are many people doing the same thing as you = sending tips to the big blogs. Besides the usual peak of traffic for 1-2-3-4-5 days (depending of the blog) with plenty of uniques, I've noticed a little % grow comparing to the usual days. I've also noticed that the traffic is not always the same when a big blog publishes your articles, it depends of the category and of how hot it is. In my case... for example, iPod posts give more traffic that other mp3 players posts. And the more recent the news are, the better = sign-up to companies newsletter and have the key-moment to post it. Keep doing it As soon as they publish it, a big wave of followers will come along. After some good articles you won't have to keep sending tips, they'll start "spying" you and when one of those marvelous post pops-up, they're gonna hit it!
