Do you see SERP drop if your PR is lowered by 2+

With all the fuzz about PR dancing lately, has anyone noticed SERP drop if your toolbar PR went down by more than 2? Someone will jump out and yell they are two different things, but if PR is determined by number of BL's and SERP is hugely impacted by BL's, there is a correlation. However, if nobody sees much of a SERP drop, it further confirms the uselessness of toolbar PR (except for link exchanges of course).

    Anyone has data yet?

Noticed SERP drop with PR down, but often see if toolbar PR down then number of indexed pages goes down.

If site goes down by 2 Pr rank i would think it has to go down in serps unless everyone else droped 2 also.

I have some that dropped 2+, and SERPs have not changed. This leads me to believe the PR shown is not only inaccurate, but dis-information.

Nope, PR has no direct connection to SERP.

The serps and PR are different. PR is just one of 200 factors that effect your ranking.

No, your webpage probably won't lose serp if the tooth fairy does not visit you either.

@bogart: in light of what you said, should we still care about PR? Was it ever only important when selling/trading links was cool before the Google hammer dropped recently?

I say this because mine has dropped from 4 to 2 but my traffic from Google has remained constant. Though I am considering dropping TLA and wrapping "nofollow" on other privately sold links just to see if I can get my PR back. But I'm not sure why I should care. :)

SERP's are adjusted daily, so because a toolbar value based on variables X weeks ago changes doesn't mean you will see a shift in SERP's the moment the toolbar is updated.

It's a bit like saying we will have a sunny day tomorrow because we had one a month ago.

If your pr drops, it doesn't matter. It's all about having quality backlinks with google.

Google says that Pagerank is one of over 200 signals that can affect how your site is crawled, indexed and ranked.

Don't rely on the toolbar as an SEO Metric, the toolbar is unreliable and the number from one to ten does not tell you how google ranks sites. Look for authority, relevancy, and quality factors to determine the value of a link.

My PR dropped, but SERP is still the same. Backlinks can affect SERP, pagerank has no direct effect.

There is a thousand factor that can affect SERP so what's make you think that it because of decrease in PR. I believe that when google update backlinks or PR algo is also updated.

I think the PR dropped on many high PR sites (PR6, 7, 8, 9) because there were just too many high PR sites. Maybe I'm wrong...

PR does infect serps but your actual pr not the visible.so if you have the serps before the update you will keep those serps because u were allready -pr2 points in the eyes of G.And the same aplys to the ones went up+pr5 will keep the same serps as in G eyes they were allready pr5.Just my opinion.

Most of my sites have dropped by an average of 2 units.
It seems however that all my competitor sites have also dropped
