I agree that "We" will represent a larger site while "I" as a small player. But some are not really honest just to make a site look established.
I don't own a directory, but I own a website, and I say 'we'. It sounds much more professional in my honest opinion.
I say 'we' because there is me who does all the work, then a good freind who is setting up the site and doing all the techy stuff whilst I just input into his database he made for the directory. We will split any money made, although it's not mainly about money. I will do all the day to day stuff etc, he will just do the one off stuff like constructing the site etc. So 'we' for us because it is 'us'.
Hmmm... I use "we" when referring to anything related to the directory, since I do have my son occasionally helping me. But I do that mostly because when I send out a business-related email to someone, I use "I" because I want to emphasize that they are getting PERSONAL attention from me, the owner. I'm hoping they see the difference. Did that make sense? Do you think it's worth my time? I haven't been able to tell any difference. ~cj
I think you're right. By saying "we", the submitter may feel like they are submitting to a professional directory that is managed by more than 1 person. Usually when a company has more than 1 person, it oftens means that the company has more business than 1 person can handle. This may give the submitter more confidence in submitting to a directory which many others trust. My 2 cents.
I usually say "We" as we do employ 3 people and own more than 15 Web Directories, Script and SEO Sites.
You could say something like "It will be the [Company Name]'s priority and "i" will pesonally handle it myself" This makes the company sound big and makes the customer think he is being given special treatment even if its only you alone running the company or in this case directory.
Well, i normally say We because, i have more than 1 directory, so i refer to groupe of directories. that's why i say we. does it make sence ...... to any one
We pondered the subject for a long time and decided to use I. Good question! We sounds bigger but I sounds more personal.
I doubt its all that important though really. Most users will just find the relevant category and submit rather than read all the text you have on your website...
Of course as a marketing strategy you should say 'we' - which gives the impersonation that you have multiple people working at that place/on a team, rather than 'I'. It also works to your benefit if you act fast when you say we, because then people will talk about that business and say that they have a wonderful 'team', etc.
