Do you run pops/pop-unders?

I used to, but I figured out that the revenue generated wasn't worth annoying the users. And since pops are now blocked by a large percentage of web users, it's not worth the time either.

But that's only my opinion. If pops worked well for me, I guess I'd ran them. What do you guys do?

I don't think any site that sells product should have pop ups or unders as it is hard enough to get a customer to you, why ruin your conversion rate once they are there.

I think if you have a legitimate informational site with lots of free content or tools, people are much more forgiving.

I absolutely detest any pop ups / unders /exit pages. In fact, my most likely reaction is to never return to the site that serves them. I don't know how many people are with me on this, but it's something to keep in mind when considering these advertising methods.

I hate them with a passion. I tried using an informational popup for a few weeks but got rid of it because it just pissed off everyone that came to the site. It was a failed experiment.

    I agree - Popups/unders... Bad news.

I flatly refuse to visit the site in question again (Unless it just can't be helped).

I'm personally really annoyed by the popups and popunders, and therefore I don't use them on my site either.

Don't use pop-ups, pop-unders, overlaying divs, etc etc etc... If your visitors like your website they will return. If they return they probably will click on your ads, and if they change constantly your revenue will raise and everyone will be happy (you and your visitors).

As soon as a larger number of users upgrades to SP2 pop-ups will be dead anyway.

Talking about pop-ups... There is SPAM. Everyone can make it, but the biggest companies won't do it.

Why? Will you visit a website that spams you? I wouldn't... That's bad for a website reputation.

Pop-ups, pop-unders, layers, registration of users just to see your content, lots of flashy banners and aff content... All this $#!%& can kill a website for sure...
