Do you respect nigerians?

With all the controversy surrounding Nigeria, many Nigerians are being called out as scammers,terrorists,thief's,rude,undisciplined and much more! Just like the recent incident of when a Nigerian tried to bomb an American Delta airline.


What do you guys think?

Pretty sure Nigerians are humans just like the rest of us.

 

lolz.. there are lots of scammers in my country too. but i don't think they're all savages or terrorist. not everyone atleast.

 

Blaming the whole nigerians nation just because of pinch of people :-s

 

You can be careful around them and respect them at the same time. It is human nature to be skeptic.

My God...online you should be careful with EVERYONE in general. Someone being Nigerian is not a cause for caution. If so, it is proof of discrimination and prejudice.

And it it really is not human nature to be skeptical. That's how scammers are able to scam in the first place.

While i don't necessarily condone racial profiling, i do agree that national traits exist. That's to say like we believe the Germans are precise, the Japanese pay attention to detail and Italians have passion it's also true that national traits can also be negative.

I mean, be honest. How many scam emails have you got from the Dutch?

In my experience at work Nigerians tend to be lazier, turn up late for work and try to blame others for their mistakes, something which incidentally was brought to my attention by a Ghanaian. I have a regional manager working for me, a Zimbabwean, who doesn't like Nigerians being put on his contracts because he "can't trust them to do the job".

 

Yes, online you should be careful with everyone but actually, if someone claims he or she is Nigerian who inherited a cave full of gold, then you should be extra cautious. Even though, the old school Nigerian scams have been exposed, most Nigerians today disguise from other countries. So, yes, it is absolutely natural to become skeptic if you receive a message, letter or any sort of shady indication, especially from countries like Nigeria, China and India. It has nothing to do with discrimination and racism.
Like I said, you can be careful around anyone and respect them.

 

I think some of you are being way to skeptical, I was just seeing how people would respond to this question and It seems as if people are fine with racial profiling. This is wrong and should not happen at all.
