Do you report MFA sites ?

So I was browsing Blogspot.com the other day and starting coming upon a lot of Made For Adsense blogs.

They all had the same format, catchy key word domain name, one narrow topic (like Britney Spears or rattle snakes). Each article had about 4 -5 paragraphs, 2 - 3 images and a hit counter graphic on the side.

So I started flagging them so blogger could review them. They are obviously all setup by the same person as they all follow the exact same format.

Do you report MFA sites ? It's obviously in our interest for google / who ever to boot these people so WE can start getting some more clicks / higher payments ;)

    Thoughts ?

Nope, because if your site is purely funded and/or made explicitly to profit off AdSense (every single image host, free service provider, any site that's justified by the AdSense) then technically it's an MFA. Not only that, when I'm running affiliate programs and some MFA happens to be the one who delivers me my converting leads, I don't really mind in the end.

Take away AdSense from a lot of the free services on the net and the owner won't justify providing them anymore.

However... if BAD MFA sites are what you're referring to, then that's a whole other ballpark...

Ya, I mean BAD MFA sites. Not just some persons personal homepage which happens to suck and use adsense.

I'm referrring mainly to those spammers we all know and love so much where 95% of the page is adsense boxes, etc.

if you report it to Blogger, the best they'll do is delete the blog.. the owner will then just make a new one..

IF you're going to report it, report it to Google Adsense by clicking on the "Ads by Gooogle" link on the ad. If Google bans them you know they wont get back in.. we'll see the owner here posting "..how i can got back to adsense if you banned.."

I report MFA sites , the spammy kind . As in only "sponsored links" on the page and top4 , top8 etc. results. Those I consider to be really bad , especially when having a high place in the SERPS for some nice keywords :) .

To be honest with you guys - I don't. I always figure there must be 10s of 1,000s of those and what difference does it really make? Google should be working on an automated way to catch those guys.

True, but reporting them can help them to identify patterns.

However, I don't usually bother either, because I believe there are other pointless things to do that are more exciting.

A site with other content or value is not considered a made-for-adsense site.

It is a waste of my time to stop and click on the "ads by gooooogle" to report a site.
Nine times out of ten, when I did such a thing as report a site, I got a nice email thanking me and that they will look into the matter reported.
And the site was still there with adsense some time later.

So now, I let the wannabe cops of the net handle the reporting for me.

Isn't your time better spent working on your own site? Come on, stop doing work for Google without pay. If this was really important to Google, don't you think THEY would be doing something about it? Like actually checking the sites using AdSense?

Not that I'm a wanneb cop, but I kept track of some sites that have been reported to Adsense by members in the forum. I must say that Google does indeed act upon the reports... the only problem is that it can take up to a couple of months for them to do anything.

I have a sneaky feeling that google lets most reported sites stay up until the reach the payout threshold, then they shut the account down.

It is to google's advantage to let those sites stay up as long as possible.
They can tell advertisers and potential advertisers that look, your ads could be seen on possibly these many sites right now.

Great point - however if Google were to regularly do this it'd really seem they'd be uncharacteristically penny pinching. With the exception of those stupid enough to run 3 ads and a link unit on a blank page with no content - I have never seen anyone banned specifically for running AdSense on spammy or MFA sites (or even mass generated B&P sites). The ones that do end up getting banned (that I've heard of at least) are usually banned with the generic invalid clicks email.

MFA and, to an extent, spammy sites convert and also have the honor of lining Google's coffers. Until these few things change, I don't see them cracking down particularly hard on rogue publishers.

Perhaps they're saving the hammer for the next update?

Dude, a forum about rules and regulations is no place for Sarcasm!!!

Looked to me like you were serious... Sarcasm doesn't work so well when you can't see the persons facial expresions.
